Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
Let's hope is closer to 4 weeks than fucking 6 months.
Apparently a lot worse than initially mentioned.
Speedy recovery Cressy!

Disappointed for us and for Cresswell. I think with the Walrus being in charge of England his prospects of a call-up would've been good.

He'll be a big miss for us. Probably been the best English left-back for the last 2 seasons for my money. Saw on the highlights on whufc.com that he got an assist; we'll miss his crosses as well.

On another note, that Karlsruhe player had a lucky escape as it looked like Winston was about to rip his fucking head off! Reid was FUMING. You do not fuck with Winston, he is nails.

Official site saying minimum 3 months out, up to 4 presumably depending on what the medical assessment shows. Also reported that Lanzini will be replaced in the Argie Olympic squad once the IOC medicos confirm he is unfit (allowing a replacement to be drafted in): then quickly back to London for assessment of his knee injury.

Re: Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
Ok couple of positives. Firstly there's still 3 weeks til the start of the season. That's almost one month down. The prognosis is up to 4 months with emphasis on the "up to", so hopefully that's a cautious prognosis, and he's Young so maybe he can get back in nearer half that time.

Either way we need reliable cover in that position.

Re: Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
What is it with giving no information about injuries over there? Is it ACL, MCL, PCL? Is it a strain, partial tear, full tear? If no surgery is even an option, that rules out a total ACL tear.

Shit fucking injury curse strikes again. This is a big loss at the back. It won't help steady us on the back of their form from last season

Imperative we give Page these next couple of games instead of Nordveit or god for bid Antonio.
He played exceptionally well against Astra last year who went on to when their league.
I can't see the point in buying a kid from Walsall or Leeds.

A left sided version of a bloke that isn't a very good right back?

Fucking idiot.

Re: Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
Sorry , I didn't mean playing Antonio over there, just I'd be happy with a left-sided version of him, as opposed to a dedicated left back.

Re: Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
EAH,

Lots of our good play should have come down the right too, but Jenkinson did an Ilunga and suddenly we were useless, defensively. The Jenks ACL (with all due respect) was a mercy injury.

Antonio's left foot is pretty good; was shite until Dicks got hold of him (Can't believe I said that) but getting him to play left back would be a huge ask.

Funny how you can fuck your ACL (Jenks, Cresswell) and walk off, but not play. No lateral support.

Anyway, if anyone has a few lower back discs they don't need? I'll give you my home address......

We got lucky last season as he was seemingly bulletproof when we'd failed to get in adequate cover. When will we learn?

Re: Cresswell's injury Confirmed-up to 4 months out
This is a real shame. As VH said, so much of our good play last year came about through Cresswell and his combinations down that left flank.

I'd be happy with a left-sided Antonio. As someone else said, I'd like to see as many attacking players on the field as we can safely fit in.

Cresswell crossed to Fletcher for our third against the murderers from Karlsruher.

Cresswell's cross was right in the naughty bits of their defence. Fletcher arrived and in it went.

Anyway, we'll get another left back at an inflated price, and save some money because Fletcher is really good. I'd rather we didn't have the arrogant, greasy dago Bacca just because, in a year's time he might have toppled over the edge and be on the downslide.
